Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The journal invites scholars and experts working in Islamic economics, management, and business. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted papers are subject to review of the editors and blind reviewers.

Articles should be written in English between approximately 3000-6000 words including text, all tables, and figures, notes, references, and appendices intended for publication. Structure of the article:

  • Title; should be brief, short, clear, and informative which reflect the article content, each word of the title should be started with a capitalized letter.
  • Author’s names and institutions; should be accompanied by the author’s institutions, affiliation address, email addresses, and telephone addresses, without any academic titles and/or job title.
  • Abstract; written in one paragraph not more than 200 words and keywords (3-5 words), contains a clear statement of the background of the study, the purpose of the study, method, result, and implication, with no references cited.
  • The manuscript should contain an introduction, literature review, method, result and discussion, and a conclusion. References preferably the last ten year publication. It is suggested to use Mendeley as a reference manager at styling the footnote and the bibliography.

All notes must appear in the text as citations. A citation usually requires only the last name of the author(s), year of publication, and (sometimes) page numbers. For example: (Siddiqi 2000; Mustafa Omar Mohammed 2008; al-Shāṭibī 2000; Geertz 1966:114). Explanatory footnotes may be included but should not be used for simple citations. All works cited must appear in the reference list at the end of the article.

References should be written in alphabetical order, without any number. NUIEJ: Nusantara Islamic Economic Journal uses the APA 7th edition Referencing Style, such as below:
